EDWARDSBURG – The Ontwa Township – Edwardsburg Police Department is launching a new Community Information Service designed to deliver important and timely information to residents using the latest technology.

Chief Wray feels that knowledge about events, given to the residents of the community is most important in solving and reducing crimes in the community. With the help of this new information service the police department feels the community will provide much needed information to the police. Armed with this information crimes, such as breaking and entering and larcenies from vehicles and destruction of property should be reduced.
Wray asks all residents to at least look into signing up with Nixle it not only gives you a message about what is going on in the community but also gives you a map of where these events are taking place.

For now, Ontwa Township and Edwardsburg Village residents will be able to receive police-related information and municipal government information via Nixle. Channels providing other kinds of information are expected to be introduced in the future.
