Josephine Ann (Farmer) Schultz, 93, died on Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, most recently living at The Willows Assisted Living in St. Joseph.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Hoven Funeral Home, in Buchanan with the Rev. Charles Johnston officiating.

She will be laid to rest in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan.

Visitation will be held at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan on Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m.

She was born on July 11, 1916, in Otsego, to William B. and Myrtle A. Farmer.

She graduated from Niles High School and attended South Bend College of Commerce.
In 1935-1939, she was secretary to Jerry Tyler of Tyler Fixture Corporation in Niles, later known as Tyler Refrigeration.

On April 7, 1939, in Buchanan, she married Milford H. Schultz, who preceded her in death on July 5, 1994. She assisted Milford in his real estate sales and appraising business.

She was a sweet and loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a wonderful and faithful homemaker, always there for her family. Nature and birds and animals were special to her.

Survivors include her children, Ronald Lee (Betty) Schultz of Frankenmuth and Nancy Jo (Albert) Schuck of Berrien Springs; grandsons, Brian L. (Karen) Schultz of Castle Rock, Colo. and Bradley A. (Alissa) Schultz of Powell, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Grace, Nathan and Ellia Schultz of Powell; a sister-in-law, Juanita Farmer of Niles and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milford; brothers, William and Claude Farmer; sisters, Leona Mayhew, Edith Pressnall and Ethel Schulke and great-granddaughter, Madelyn Anne Schultz.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Missionary Baptist Church, 925 Chippewa St., Buchanan, MI 49107, where she attended, or to Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
