Hoye Denver Snodgrass, 71, of Ontwa Township, Edwardsburg died at 5:03 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at his home after an illness.
He was born Jan. 23, 1938 in Rose Hill, Va. to Hassie Hester Snodgrass and Robert Snodgrass. He lived in this area most of his life. He was a machinist for Elkhart Brass.
He married Eleanor E. Teate, who died March 27, 1996. He was a Purple Heart recipient, Shriner, Free Mason, Knight Templar, loved the outdoors , wildlife, Christiana Creek, Keno, beer, guns, turkey shoots and friends telling jokes and stories. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and of Scottish heritage.
He is survived by his caregiver, Rick Ashcroft; grandchildren, Justin Snodgrass, of Elkhart, Elliot Roseberry, of Elkhart; Crystal Adkins, of Cassopolis; sisters, Betty Corey, of Florida, Delores Williams, of Kentucky, Margaret Ayers, of Virginia, Barbara Sue Cheak, of Georgia; and three great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
