BUCHANAN     – Buchanan District Library, 128 E. Front St., Buchanan held its end of summer reading program picnic at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, in the Buchanan Commons. We had hotdogs, chips, and drinks for the kids and their families. Joel Tacey performed his juggling and magic act. Each child who completed the reading program received a certificate, a free book of their choosing, and a bag of goodies, including a certificate for a free child-size pan pizza from Pizza Hut. Approximately 250 people were in attendance.

In all, 123 children and teens and 20 adults completed the summer reading program, and the kids read 3343 books!
