Niles splits with Lancers

STEVENSVILLE — Mitchell Dehn tossed a two-hitter with nine strikeouts in the opening day of Niles’ Big 16 West Division showdown with host Lakeshore.
The Vikings (6-6, 2-3 West Division) banged out nine hits, including a double by Matthew McLaughlin, in defeating the Lancers 6-0.
Lakeshore responded by winning the nightcap 10-0 in five innings.
McLaughlin had two hits, as did Tate Brawley in the opening game for the Vikings. Tyler Parish and Chris Mangus both drove in two runs.
Josh Foster turned the table on Niles in the second game, tossing a two-hitter with six strikeouts.
Lakeshore used a five-run first inning to gain the split.
