Three Rivers blanks Dowagiac in non-league match

DOWAGIAC — Visiting Three Rivers blanked the Dowagiac tennis team in a non-conference match Friday.

The Chieftains played one of its most competitive matches of the season against the Wildcats. Dowagiac’s closest matches came at No. 2 and No. 4 singles, as well as, No. 3 doubles.

Lauren Balsbaugh played tough against Three Rivers’ Lily Zabonick before falling 6-3 and 6-2. Hailey Spivey also gave the Wildcats a good match before being defeated by Kenzie Rennie 6-2 and 6-4.

In doubles, the Chieftains’ Ariel Peters and Olivia Donoho battled Three Rivers’ Soreeya Hosung and Hailey Grubbs before falling 6-4 and 6-2.
