Kay E. Zablocki, 59, of Niles passed away at her home surrounded by family after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

There will be a visitation at Brown Funeral Home in Niles, on Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will take place the following day, Thursday, Aug. 6, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Niles at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at the church.

She was born July 25, 1950, to the late Ralph and Eileen (Papai) Munroe in Niles.
She married John Zablocki, her high school sweetheart, on Jan. 8, 1971, at St. Mark Church in Niles. Together they shared 38 wonderful years.

Kay spent much of her life as a homemaker and also enjoyed helping her husband with the family business.   Kay loved to travel with her family and friends. She enjoyed being outdoors; she always took pleasure in working in her yard and spent many days at her family’s cottage on Smith Lake. Kay was a devoted wife and mother and will always be remembered for her caring ways. She took great joy in taking care of her family and also the cats and dogs that claimed Kay as their own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Eileen Munroe.

She is survived by her husband, John; her son, Joe Zablocki; her daughter, Jennifer (Alan) Eiker; one step-grandson, Tyler Baber and a sister, Sandra West, all of Niles.
