Michael Dan Simmons Sr., 65, of Cassopolis, died Thursday, May 28, 2020, in his residence.

He was born Nov. 16, 1954, in South Bend, to Clifton Sr. and Gazella Simmons.

He married Danielle Yvette Clayton on June 19, 1991, in Cassopolis.

Michael was a good hearted but stubborn man who liked his Harley and women. He cherished and loved his children, grandchildren, animals and guns. He liked to stay busy and making people happy. He cherished his farm, woods and perimeter checks. 

Michael will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Danielle Simmons, of Cassopolis; daughter, Julie M. King, of Cassopolis; son, Michael Dan Simmons Jr., of Maine; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Marsha Simmons, of South Bend, Cheryl Covey, of Elkhart; brother, Ken (Cindy) Allen Jr., of Vandalia; niece, Lisa Allen, of Elkhart, Indiana; and nephews, John and Nick Allen, both of Elkhart.

The family will observe a private remembrance.
