Nov. 13, 1963 — May 25, 2020

John Patton Young, 56, of Vandalia, formerly of Osceola, Indiana, died peacefully Monday, May 25, 2020, in his residence.

He was born Nov. 13, 1963, in St. Joseph County, Indiana, the second of four children of John and Sharron Young.

Johnny was a very loving and caring brother, always willing to help in any way possible and that is how he will be remembered. He loved watching the “old” westerns regardless of how many times he saw the same ones. Johnny was always willing to light up the room with his humor and making people laugh.

Johnny will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by one daughter, Cassidy Young; three sons, Charles (Monica) Kulp, Jay McAllister, Cody Young; seven grandchildren; one sister, Virginia (Craig) Alvey, Pam Hamilton, Chris (Charles) Adams, Brenda (Robert) Buckey, Sandy Lambright; one brother, Dwight Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his paternal grandparents; and four brothers, Matthew Young, Thomas Young, John Hamilton and Roger Lee Hamilton.

The family will observe a private remembrance.

The family prefers contributions in memory of John be made to Cass County Animal Shelter, 323 M-62, Cassopolis, MI 49031.
