Carol Mae Nieman, 80, of Dowagiac, passed away on Sunday May 24, 2020, at the Timbers of Cass County. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel in Dowagiac.

Carol was born on March 11, 1940, in Lawrence, Michigan, to the late William and Myrtle (Bakeman) Crawford.

She was a 1958 graduate of the Andrews Academy and continued her education at Andrews University receiving her master’s degree in education. Carol then taught at various schools.

Carol is survived by her husband, Rolf Nieman, of Dowagiac; brothers, Philip (Jennie) Crawford, of Dowagiac, and Gene (Peggy) Crawford, of Jackson, Michigan; nieces, Lori (James) DeYoung, Sallie (Steve) Baerg, Susan (Erik) Oosterwal and Sandie (Scott) Yore; nephew, William (Katrina) Crawford; several grandnieces and grandnephews; a step-son, John Nieman; and two step-grandchildren.

Services will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Glenwood Seventh Day Adventist Church or to the donor’s choice. Friends wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at clarkch.com.
