NILES — A woman whose vehicle struck railroad tracks on Pokagon Highway sustained minor injuries.

On Sunday, Samantha Robertson, 49, lost control of her vehicle due to weather conditions and struck railroad tracks near the intersection of Pokagon Highway and Barron Lake, said Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke.

She was transported by Southwest Michigan Community Ambulance Services to Spectrum Health Lakeland in Niles, where she was treated for her minor injuries.

The Howard Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Robertson wore a seatbelt and Behnke said the sheriff’s department does not believe alcohol and drugs to be a factor.
