Clifton John Huffman, 99, passed away Sept. 7, 2019, at the Peaceful Acres in West Branch.

Clifton was born on June 21, 1920, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Herbert and Nellie (Gray) Huffman.

He was a resident of West Branch, Michigan, for the past 15 years. Clifton’s work took him many places; lived all over the world.

Through the years he lived in Midland, Bay City, Niles, Grand Rapids, Baltimore, Chicago, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, Florida, Georgia and even Germany. He was a corporate executive for aluminum manufactures, including Kawneer and was also a designer and metallurgist. He enjoyed his work and was proud of the life he was able to build from humble beginnings. Even in his later years, he still continued to do consulting and design work. He had a number of patents through the years and was very talented at what he did. He was a World War II Army Veteran and served in the South Pacific.

Clifton is survived by his wife Etta Huffman, of Bay City; son, John Huffman, of Waterford, Maine; daughter, Mary Curley, of Lakeland, Florida, three grandchildren Dr. Jeff (Rebecca Harley) Huffman, of Lexington, Massachusetts, Jason Hardman, of Lake Mary, Florida and Brandon Hardman, of Lakeland, Florida.

He is preceded in death by his wife Helena (Hanson) Huffman, sister Coral Johnson, and his parents. Per his wishes a cremation has taken place. Those wishing to leave a condolence please visit steuernolmclaren.com.
