PARCHMENT — The goal-scoring barrage continued for the Dowagiac soccer team Wednesday night.

The Chieftains, who shut out Coloma 9-0 on Monday night, scored eight goals in the first half to beat host Parchment 8-0 in a non-conference match that ended at halftime due to the mercy rule.

“It was well-played game and good movement between midfielders and forwards,” said Dowagiac coach Mike Williams.

Dowagiac unleashed 27 shots on goal against the Panthers.

Cole Weller had a huge night with five goals. He scored in the eighth, 10th, 31st, 35th and 36th minutes.

Also scoring for the Chieftains were Cristian Wilson with a pair, to go along with an assist, and Jose Carillo.

Dowagiac is back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Brandywine in a non-conference match scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
