NILES — The Four Flags Garden Club will host a Spring Plant Sale from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 11 at the Riverfront Park Amphitheater.

Club members will be offering established plants for sale from their gardens. Prices will range from $2 for 4-inch pots, with gallon pots at $4 or three for $10. Some prices may vary.  Plant related decorator items will be available for purchase as well.

Proceeds from the event help to support the garden club’s efforts to maintain the historic garden beds at the Niles Amtrak Depot.

The club said that with event leading up to Mother’s Day, this could be an opportune time to buy a gift for mom. The club said it is also an excellent opportunity to meet local gardeners who enjoy talking about their favorite hobby. Club members will also be available to offer suggestions for what plants would work best in the shade or sun, and what combinations would be unique and appealing in a garden.

The Four Flags Garden Club seeks to offer an opportunity to anyone who wishes to learn about planting, pruning, landscaping with perennials and annuals, or beautifying specific areas around their home or community.

The garden club meets monthly at 6:45 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the Niles Law Enforcement Complex. Those interested in learning more about the club, joining or attending a meeting, contact Marilyn at (269) 422-7055.
