Violene Rodgers, 89, of Niles, passed away at 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Buchanan Meadows, following an illness.

She was born in Swifton, Arkansas to the late Jeff and Theresa (Grimmer) Satterfield.

On Aug. 1, 1950, she married Jones Hall Rodgers at a ceremony in Arkansas. A homemaker most of her life, Violene enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jones Rodgers; siblings, Frankie King, Bernice Couch, Frances Head, Hazel Scott, David Satterfield, Richard Garrison, Almo Satterfield and Andy Satterfield.

Violene is survived by her sons, Charles (Kim) Rodgers and James Rodgers, all of Niles; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Fern (David) Konkey, of Niles as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.  on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Brown Funeral Home with an interment following at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
