Linda was born on Sept. 12, 1957, in Niles to Joseph French and Phyllis (Geist) Liggett. She pursued her love of education, obtaining her master’s degree and becoming a teacher.

Born to help others, Linda founded the knitting group “Look no hands, a hug in every stitch, made with love” and was a huge motivator to her fellow amputees. Her greatest joy; however, was her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her children, Michael (Summer) Vite, of Chicago, Illinois, Molly (Shawn) Saputo, of Waterford, Megan Vite, of Cassopolis, and Melissa (Mike) Putnam, of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Sarah, Chelsea, and Kimberly Putnam; significant other, Russ Mills; and siblings, Jerry (Terry) French, Janine (David) Sharrard, and JoAnn McCahill. She was preceded in death by her parents.
