Former NFL ref added to NBC

STAMFORD, Conn.  — NBC Sports today named Terry McAulay as an on-air rules analyst for NBC Sunday Night Football, Football Night in America and Notre Dame Football.

McAulay joins NBC Sports following his recent retirement after 20 years as an on-field NFL game official, and a college football officiating administrator for the past 10 seasons.

McAulay will be on-site at SNF and Notre Dame Football games, moving between the broadcast booth during the game and the studio set for pre-game and halftime shows. In addition, on the mornings after games where rulings are a hot topic, McAulay will join Pro Football Talk with Mike Florio on NBC Sports Radio and NBCSN.

McAulay served as a referee for the last 17 of his 20 NFL seasons (1998-2017), previously serving as a side judge and a field judge. He led the officiating crew in three Super Bowls (XXXIX, XLIII, and XLVIII) and worked 15 additional NFL playoff games,

In addition, he was the American Athletic Conference’s coordinator of football officiating since 2008 (named the Big East Conference from 2008-13).
