LETTER: Get it from the horse’s mouth

Published 9:59 am Thursday, April 26, 2018

The November midterm election is approaching and will likely determine the direction of our country for a long time.  As citizens and voters we need to inform ourselves about those running to lead us.

Depending on who we watch, read or listen to we get different voices and different versions of who they are.

“Get it from the horse’s mouth” is always a good idea and we have that opportunity this Sunday, April 29 in Cassopolis.  Democratic candidates for the 6th District U.S. House of Representatives, the office currently held by Rep. Fred Upton, will meet in a forum at Turtle Lodge (across from the old courthouse)  from 2 to 5 p.m..  They will compete against each other in the Aug. 7 Primary Election, and the winner will run against Fred Upton in the general election on Nov. 6.

This is our opportunity to get to know these candidates and decide who we will vote for in the Democratic primary on Aug. 7.  They will introduce themselves and answer questions, with the focus on questions from the audience.  The goal is to give voters the information we need to decide who will best represent us in Washington.

It is an important decision that affects every one of us, and generations to come.  Please join us and get to know these candidates.  More information can be found oncasscountydems.com
