Frances Arlean Craft, 83, of Dowagiac, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at her home. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac with Pastor Thomas Bird officiating. Frances Arlean Craft

Frances was born on May 1, 1934, to Lawrence and Barbara (Congdon) Harris in Eau Claire. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School. On July 19, 1953, Frances married Joseph Craft at the Methodist Peace Temple Church in Benton Harbor. Frances worked as a factory worker for Contech/Sealed Power and Per-Pac Factory before she retired. She then spent her spare time working for ICG as a security guard. Frances enjoyed reading mysteries novels and crafting, such as knitting, sewing and crocheting.

She also like to bowl and enjoy the warmth of the sun. Most of all she loved to spend her time with her grandchildren.

Frances is survived by her husband Joseph; children, Gary (Linda) Craft of Holland, Deanna (Terry) Glynn of Dowagiac, Barbara (Larry) Myrkle of Dowagiac, Linda (Larry) McArthur of Pacific Grove, CA and Bill (Danielle) Craft of South Bend; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren (with one on the way); special family members Marjon (Aart) van de Pol and Eric (Santa) van Amstel of Netherlands; brothers, Harold (Vicky) Harris of Benton Harbor, Robert (Jackie) Harris of Stevensville, Lawrence Harris Jr. of Benton Harbor and Lyn Harris of South Haven; sister Debbie of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Cathy Harris.
