Clarence Batman, 84, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at home surrounded by his family.

Clarence was born June 6, 1933, to the late Clarence O. and Gladys Batman in Judsonia, Arizona. On Aug. 16, 1958, he married Beverly Weathers, who preceded him in death in 2016.

Clarence retired after 30 years at Tyler Refrigeration of Niles, where he served as vice president of Local Union 816.

He enjoyed traveling the country by motorcycle with his wife and friends. Clarence enjoyed playing basketball in high school and college. He was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne Division where he served as a paratrooper. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Niles. Most of all, he loved gathering with his children, grandchildren, and extended family where he would be first in line for fish frys. He loved singing, playing the banjo, and watching old westerns.

Clarence is survived by his children, Patti (Rick) Brown-Reynolds, Debra (David) Shoemaker, Donnie (Kathryn) Batman, Kelly (Matt) Wysocki-Emery; grandchildren, Erica (Bruce) Zache, Jeremy (Crystal) Nelson, Rachel Batman, Karalyn Wysocki, Justin Batman, Aiden Wysocki; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jackson, Breslyn, and Raegan Zache,Krosslin, Keana, Kamden, and Kason Nelson and niece, Kathy Pawson Wright.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Johnson; brothers, Harold Jones, Loyd Batman; and sister, Betty Paladuk.

Visitation for Clarence will be at noon on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at Hoven Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Lonnie Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Galien Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at hovenfunerals.com.
