Gerald G. Ostrowski, 79, of Dowagiac, passed away at his home on Sat. Jan. 13, 2018.

Gerald was born in Dowagiac on Nov. 3, 1938, to the late Zigmont and Betty (Fuller) Ostrowski.

He proudly served his country while in the U.S. Army. Gerald was a licensed contractor and owned and operated his business, Ostrowski Plumbing & Heating, in Dowagiac until his retirement. He was a member of the Dowagiac American Legion and was very active in the Cass County Republican Party, where he also served as a convention delegate.

Gerald is survived by his son, Andrew Ostrowski of Dowagiac.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Zigmont and Betty, Andrew’s mother , Debra Van Nuys; and a brother, Joseph.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, at Clark Chapel Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Stacey Wilder officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
