Jane Merwin-Ferrier, 67, of Dowagiac, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at her home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, Graveside at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of Sara Wallace. Those wishing to leave a memory of Jane may do so online at www.clarkch.com.

Jane was born on Oct. 4, 1950, to Orrin D. and Mary Louise (Bower) Merwin in Dowagiac. She graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1968. Jane was known as a hard worker, she worked as a bartender for many years at Bake’s Place Bar in Dowagiac. She then went on to work as a cashier at Stories Grocery Store in Kalamazoo before retirement.

Jane was a very loving person, she made friends with everyone she met and was always the life of the party. Most of all she loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Sara Jane (Troy) Hammond-Wallace; siblings, Celia (Late Frank) Harrington and Bill (Judy) Merwin and several nieces, nephews, cousins, step-children and step-grandchildren.

Jane was preceded in death by her first husband Earl G. Hammond, second husband Donald Ferrier, Sr; siblings, Tom Merwin, David Merwin, Marie Merwin, Dan Merwin and Nancy Merwin-Hudson.
