Stand up for peace, not more war

The founders of our country did not encourage a standing army in times of peace.

They thought state militia would provide law and order. The fact that our military establishment is so large leads many to fear a military takeover of the government.

Therefore these fearful people stock up on guns to protect themselves from their government. If our government would stop trying to be the world’s policeman and cut the military budget this would lessen the need for the population to be armed with the latest in military hardware.

Also it would free up money for infrastructure repair, better healthcare, debt free education and a multitude of other needed expenses.

We proved in World War II that we can mobilize very quickly when the need arises so there is no need for a large military establishment. Let us speak out for peace.
