Cass District Library hosting activities

The Cass District Library will host a variety of events in the coming days at its various branches. The Main Library is located at 319 M 62 North in Cassopolis. Tuesday, Aug. 8

• The Exotic Zoo

The program featuring exotic animals from all over the world will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the Main Library; 1 p.m. at and the Mason/Union Branch; 10 a.m. at the Edwardsburg Branch and 1 p.m. at the Howard Branch. These shows will be offered at four different branches to wrap up the Summer Library Club: “Build a Better World!”

Some of the featured animals may include a large iguana, tortoise, arctic fox, exotic birds and more. There is no guarantee that all the animals will be shown.

The program is open to all ages. There will be a question and answer time as a part of the program. This program is free and open to the public.

Aug. 14-Sept. 2

• Math Scoops Ice Cream Math Club at Cass District Library

Math Scoops Ice Cream Math Club will begin Aug. 14 and end on Sept. 2. Children of all ages can participate by completing a math worksheets packet that they get from the library upon registering for the club.

Students may choose to complete a packet from the grade they finished in spring or challenge themselves to complete a packet for the grade they will be entering in the fall. Once the packet is complete, the worksheets can be returned to the library to receive an ice cream treat as a reward.

Main Library August Schedule at a Glance:

• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 2 to Aug. 4 — Annual Book Sale.

Books will be for sale ach day, Friday is $1 per bag day

• 10 a.m. Aug. 8 — Exotic Zoo

Live animals will be shown

• 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 9 — Card Making Class,

Registration required due to limited space, call (269) 357-7822 to sign-up

• 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 11 – Family Fort Night,

Bring sheets/blankets to build a fort, pizza, games, and books will be provided

Aug. 14 — Math Scoops!

Ice Cream Math Club begins, those interested can stop by the library during open hours to sign-up for this fun math refresher, participants earn ice cream.

• 2 p.m. Aug. 15 — Movie feature will be “The Boss Baby,” free popcorn and water provided
