Authorities responded to a car crash that occurred near the intersection on S. 11th Street and State Line Road in front of the Murdock’s Used Cars Wednesday.

It appears that two cars were involved in the crash, a white four door Ford F150 and a brown Ford Explorer XLT.

Authorities from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department said there were people injured in the crash. No further details were available at that time because the accident is under investigation.

The Niles Fire Department also responded to the crash.

Murdock’s finance manager Sam Appleberry said that he returned from dropping off a car around 12:15 p.m. and saw that the accident had occurred. The battered truck involved in the accident appeared to have come to a stop just 2 feet before the building.

Appleberry said that he saw that the driver in the brown Ford Explorer being extracted with the jaws of life.

The other driver in the Ford F.150 appeared to be staggering, but able to walk, Appleberry said.

Accidents occur frequently in front of the used car dealership, Appleberry said. At least once a car has come through the building.

More details will be released this afternoon, after police finish the accident report.
