Cass County COA clarifies position on elections

Cassopolis — The Cass County COA would like to clarify that any endorsements made by an employeer are personal endorsements alone and do not reflect the COA as a whole.

The Cass County COA neither supports nor opposes any candidate for any political office.

 

Dowagiac residents reminded of winter parking hours

Dowagiac — Officers with the Dowagiac Police Department are currently enforcing overnight parking hours for winter.

From now through April 1, 2017, there will be no parking on city streets between 2 and 6 a.m., and no street parking in the downtown area from 3 to 6 a.m.

Citizens are asked to make sure that their vehicles are not parked on the street during these times to avoid receiving a citation.

DAR hosting luncheon Nov. 14

Marcellus — The Captain Samuel Felt chapter DAR will host a meeting honoring Vietnam veterans at noon Monday, Nov. 14, at Wakelee Methodist Church, at 15921 Dutch Settlement St., Marcellus.

The meeting is a potluck luncheon. Members whose names begin with “A” through “I” are asked to bring a salad or side dish, while those whose names beging with “J” through “Z” should bring dessert.

Members are reminded to bring their own table service.

Sandra Hanson is the chair, and hostesses are Karie Dussel, Jan Streeter and Sherry Hilden.

The speaker will be Lt. Col. Matthew Nilson.
