Fine Arts Boosters give back once again

On Monday, Nov. 23, students from Mr. Jeff Robinson’s choir at the high school and the Dowagiac Fine Arts Booster organization sorted groceries donated by the Dowagiac First United Methodist Church, The Ryder and Potter families, food collected at Ramona Roller Rink (during the Skate on Your Can event) and also food collected in Mr. Robinson’s classroom.
On Tuesday, students from his class, along with two alumni from Dowagiac, packed food for 13 area families for the Thanksgiving holiday. Five were through the school system and eight came to us through the church.
We, the Fine Arts Boosters wish to say thank you to the Methodist Church, Ramona and the students, and also Kirsten and Andrea for your guidance. Without you, this cannot be done. This is our sixth year of being able to help families in our area.
Our next venture is Shop with a Choir Student at Shopko in Dowagiac, which takes place at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, We will help four young students shop for mom, dad and siblings. We will also wrap their gifts.
Also with this venture, we will be wrapping gifts for a small donation for any shoppers who would like us to while we are at the store.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone from, us to you.
