James Everett St. Cin, 77, of Dowagiac, died peacefully Saturday evening, November 7, 2015 in Lakeland Health Care in St. Joseph, Michigan.
He was born Oct. 22, 1938, in Bell City, Missouri, to Paul and Della (Marquis) St. Cin. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rosie Emerson, Clara St. Cin; and one brother, Ray Gene St. Cin.
James enjoyed fishing, playing on his computer and watching television. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially if there was food (and there was always food – and coffee). James was a simple man.
James will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (fiance’ DeWayne Murphy) St. Cin of Dowagiac; chosen daughters, Sarah (Dale Breseman) St. Cin and Della (Will Rhodehouse) St. Cin, all of Dowagiac; nine grandchildren, Jacob (Andrea) Breseman of Lawton, Cody (Lauren) Breseman of Elkhart, Torez Baham of Washington, Indiana, Justin Mongo of Howell, Michigan, A’Lisha Patterson, Kerry Parks, Kori Johnson, Gregory Davis, Aaron Breseman, all of Dowagiac; three great grandchildren, Nevaeh Parks, Ray St. Cin, and Kaitlyn St. Cin, all of Dowagiac; two sisters, Ann (Donald Scott) Reed of Decatur, Michigan, Mary St. Cin of Dexter, Missouri; two brothers, Don (Judy) St. Cin of Benton Harbor and Phillip (Erin Weed) St. Cin of Berrien Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway St., Cassopolis, with Jeff Oliver officiating.
The family prefers contributions be made in James’ memory to the funeral home.
