Box Factory hosting auditions for new show

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. — The new Box Factory Theatre Company recently announced that it will be hosting auditions for “The Laramie Project” by Moises Kaufman to be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 18 and Thursday, Nov. 19, and at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Box Factory for the Arts.

The large multi-ethnic cast includes roles for ages 16 and older. No experience is necessary to participate. For a copy of the script or questions, email Carole Catherine at boxfactorytheatreco@gmail.com.

“The Laramie Project” was written by the Tectonic Theatre Company based on interviews held in Laramie, Wyoming in the aftermath of the hate crime murder of college student Matthew Shepherd.

Rehearsals will be flexible and begin in January. Performances will be Feb. 20 and 21 at the Box Factory for the Arts.

The Box Factory Theatre Co. has also announced plans in 2016 to produce the plays including “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” and a teen production of “The Giver” by Lois Lowry.
