Shirley Ann Wirick, 73, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, in her residence.

She was born Sept. 14, 1941, in Michigan City, Indiana to William and Mary Alice (Yates) Hermann. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren Eugene Wirick, Sr.; four sons, Bobby Wirick, William Wirick, Michael Baker, Warren Wirick, Jr.; one grandson, Ryan Wirick; one great grandson, Michael Warren Jenkins, Jr.; one sister, Flora Elaine Bowerman; and one brother, William Edward Hermann.

Shirley made the best pies, especially pumpkin, and made fudge β€œto die for.” She loved cooking for her family and made the best German Potato Salad in the whole family. Shirley was an avid reader. She was caring and generous to the point of giving someone her last dime if they needed it.

Shirley will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Ann (Jerry) Ford of Buford, Georgia, Julie (James) Henslee of Cassopolis; fifteen grandchildren, Charles (Samantha) Maike of Loganville, Georgia, Nathan (Jessica) Maike of Auburn, Georgia, Frederick Clayton Jasper III and Bobby Eugene Jasper, Sr. both of Hartford, Michigan, Casey (Kayla) Wirick of Niles, Andrew Wirick of Florida, Billie Rae Baker, Michael Jenkins, Courtney, Tiffany, and Destiny, all of Niles, John Patrick Wirick of Cassopolis, Mikalya Wirick of Niles, Darian Wirick of Edwardsburg, Warren Wirick of Galien; numerous great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Ulrath of Bangor, Michigan, Catherine (John) Wirick of Niles, Annette (Gary) Ward of Niles; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, from 5 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis, with the Reverend Martha Cooper officiating.
