Terry Malling, 72, of Niles, passed away peacefully at his home, after a brief illness, on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2015, with his wife and son by his side.
Terry was born on April 22, 1943, to the late Frederick and Emma Lou (Exner) Malling in Niles, Michigan. After high school Terry joined the United States Army where he served for three years. In October of 2000 Terry wed Karen Marshall at a ceremony in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Terry was a member of the Niles Eagles Lodge and St. John’s United Church of Christ in Niles. In his free time he enjoyed being outdoors, especially if he could be fishing, boating or working on restoring one of his classic cars.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Malling; mother, Emma Lou Arciszewski; brother, Mark Malling; and stepdaughter, Kristine Groves.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Karen Malling; son, Trent (Bridget) Malling of Niles and three grandchildren Jada, Quinn, and Tristin.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at Brown Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Niles at 11 a.m. with pastor Ray Fulbright officiating.
