Floyd Thomas Hollingsworth, Sr., 66, of Niles, went home to be with the Lord at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, with his loving family by his side.
Floyd was born on Feb. 17, 1949, to the late Noah and Goldie (Carter) Hollingsworth in Pollard, Arkansas. On Jan. 20, 1968, he married the love of his life, Vickie Whitaker. Floyd worked at Packard Industries in Niles for 28 years before retiring in 2011. Floyd loved cars and was a member of Michiana Cruisers and Bring it Super Car Club. He also enjoyed watching football, camping, and most of all spending time with his family. Floyd loved the Lord and was always active in De Colores, Bible Studies and many church events.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vickie; children, Barbara Hollingsworth-Whitaker, Tina (Kevin) Singleton and Tom (Diane) Hollingsworth; brothers, Leon Hollingsworth and Noah (Christal) Hollingsworth; sister, Ammie Marrse; grandchildren, Brian (Tina) Westveer, Cameron Ondresky, Tyler Hollingsworth, Kara Hollingsworth, Brandi Overton, Brooke Hollingsworth, Gage Reese and Nathan Hollingsworth and great granddaughter Adrianna. He was also a loving uncle and great uncle to many.
Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Goldie and sisters, Ellen, Norien, Ruthey and Martha.
Funeral services to honor Floyd’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at Bertrand Bible Church, Niles. Burial will follow at Bertrand Bible Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Bertrand Bible Church.
