Rev. William P. Melody, C.S.C., 86, of Notre Dame, Indiana and long-time assisting priest at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Niles died on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Holy Cross House in Notre Dame following an illness.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Rev. Melody was celebrated last week at The Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Notre Dame.

A memorial mass for Rev. Melody will be celebrated in Niles, at Saint Mary Catholic Church at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, by the Rev. Alphonse Savarimuthu, MSFS of the parish. The parish invites all who have been touched by the ministry of Rev. Melody to gather with them.
