Rose Marie Williams, 74, of Dowagiac, died peacefully, July 14, 2015, at The Timbers of Cass County, Dowagiac, with her family by her side.
She was born Sept. 10, 1940, in Dowagiac, the daughter of Arthur and Laura (Hilgendorf) Bruens, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry Williams; three sisters, Velma Bradley, Alta Dokey and Cleo Findlay; and two brothers, Lloyd Hilgendorf and Arthur Bruens, Jr.
Rose Marie was a faithful Christian. She was a longtime member and Sunday School teacher of Victory Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God, Dowagiac.
Rose Marie will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by: her three daughters, Penny (Marlin) Caldwell, Teresa (Joel) Huey and Holly (Kirk Engler) Williams; two sons, Jerry Williams and Todd Williams; eleven grandchildren, Marlin III, Ashley, Elijah, Jordan, Jeremy, Megan, Tyler, Seth, Matthew, Timothy and Kylee; seven great grandchildren, Hayden, Isaiah, Farah Rose, Marlin IV, Gracelyn, Lyla Mae and Jesse; two sisters, Lauretta (Barney) Smith and Kay Bruens; three brothers, Raymond “Zip” Bruens, Gordon Bruens and Merle (Lani) Bruens; very special niece Karen Smith; and a host of many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends will gather Sunday, July 19, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Victory Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God, 33440 Middle Crossing Road, Dowagiac. The funeral will be on Monday, July 20, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the church, with Pastor James Gibson officiating. Rose Marie will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Sumnerville.
