Robert “Bob” F. Law, 88, of Mishawaka, passed away peacefully in his sleep, after a long battle with heart disease and cancer, on Tuesday, June 7, 2015.
Bob was born on Oct. 3, 1926, to the late Augustus “Gus” and Beatrice Law in Oakland, California. He grew up during the depression and worked jobs after school as a young boy to help put food on the table. He quit high school to bravely serve with the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. After his tour he came back, finished high school and met Betty Imhoof. Bob and Betty were married on October 1, 1948 in San Luis Obispo, California. Bob went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly SLO. He and Betty raised two children and he later retired as the Director of Marketing at Sundstrand Corporation. Bob was a true patriot who lived in the American dream.
He was preceded in death by his father, Augustus Charles Law; mother, Beatrice (Sarah) Burns and sister, Sharon Carol Althoff.
Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Law of Mishawaka; daughter, Judith “Judi” (Michael Hallin) Rewey of Niles; son, Scott (Janet Flahaven-Law) Law of Niles; grandchildren, Fred (Tracy) Rewey of Clermont, Florida, Jennifer (Jerry) Lopez, Euless, Texas, Steven Law of Irving, Texas, Kimberly Law of Maitland, Florida and Anna Flahaven of Niles, Michigan; and great grandchildren, Alyssa, Austin and Mikayla.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior. Bob will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan at 2:30 p.m.
