Faye Louise Shelton, 73, of Edwardsburg, Michigan passed away Tuesday, April 28, at home.
“Louise” was born Feb. 25, 1942, in Colcord, Oklahoma, the daughter of Thomas Nathaniel and Bertha May Henstee. She loved her family deeply, was a registered member of the Cherokee Tribe, and enjoyed gambling, sewing, flower gardens and the color red.
She married Raymond Lee Shelton “Bud” Feb. 24, 1966, in East St. Louis, Illinois.
Surviving family includes two daughters, Kathy Callahan of Springdale, Arkansas and Terri (Gary) Burks of Edwardsburg, Michigan; and three stepsons, Raymond (Peggy) Shelton of Cahokia Illinois, George (Millette Aguilar) Shelton and Steve (Karen) Shelton both of Batesville, Arkansas; 20 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bernice Pitchford of Salem Arkansas, Nettie (Randall) Brown of Breedsville Michigan, and Ginger (Bob) Franklin of Georgia; one Brother Leroy (Sharon) Henslee of Decatur, Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Anna Laverne Henslee of Decatur, Michigan, and Margie Henslee of Niles, Michigan; one brother-in-law, Bobby Stattler of Niles, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud; step-daughter, Linda (Roger) Tracy; son-in-law, Dennis Callahan; her sister, Linda Sue Stattler; three brothers, Denver Henslee, Jim Henslee and Floyd “Buddy” (Dena) Henslee; and one brother-in-law, Wesley Pitchford.
Friends may call Thursday 5 to 8 p.m. in the Newell Funeral Home in Decatur, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday May 1, 2015, with James Abshagen officiating. Burial will take place in Hamilton Cemetery in Decatur.
