NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. — Manchester University compiled a trio of top two efforts among five top five finishes to highlight its outing at the 2015 Spartan Track Classic Thursday.

Senior thrower Stephen Coble (Edwardsburg, Mich.) resumed his solid indoor/outdoor campaign, winning the hammer throw (163 feet, six inches) and placing second in the discus (148 feet, three inches). His hammer throw toss was the second-longest in program history, while his discus was just off the school’s all-time top five and was a new career personal best. Sophomore jumps specialist Ramsen Bet-Nimrod (Rochester, Ind.) added to the field event success. He took fourth in the triple jump (37 feet, six inches) and was fifth in the long jump (18 feet, eight and a half inches).

On the track, senior hurdler Trae Bruce battled to the line in the 400 meter hurdles. The North Manchester, Ind., native’s time of 59.41 seconds left him second to only Spring Arbor’s Kaleb Powell (57.96).

Manchester University continues its season Saturday, April 11. They join the field for the 2015 Indiana Little States Championships, hosted by DePauw University, in Greencastle, Ind.

NOTES: Coble’s discus mark put him at the top of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference performance list, while his hammer effort is second-best. Both distances placed him within the top 25 on the current NCAA Division III list.
