Sandra Lee Walter, 73, of Niles, Michigan died on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at her home. She was born Aug. 22, 1941, in Niles to James Cooper and Wilma June (Richey) Blackburn.

Sandra was a 1960 graduate of Niles High School and a Cub Scout Den Mother for both of her sons. She was employed by Healthwin Specialized Care in South Bend, retiring in 1980.
Sandra is survived by two sons, Scott Walter and James Walter, both of Niles; grandchildren, Jimmy, Josh, Justin and Chris and great-grandchildren, Emily and Dylan. Sandra is also survived by her mother, Wilma Blackburn of Milford, Indiana and siblings, Sue Blackburn of Warsaw, Indiana and Joe Blackburn in New Paris, Indiana.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Mr. Jonathan Rose of Hospice at Home officiating. Interment will follow at Mission Hills, Niles.
The family with receive relatives and friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Donations in memory of Sandra may be made to Hospice at Home or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
