Charlene L. Angell, 69, of Dowagiac, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, in Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.

She was born Jan. 27, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Lillian (Runkis) Flora. She married Jim Angell March 26, 1966. He survives. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother.
Charlene loved her crafts and her animals. She helped take care of any animal that crossed her path. Neighbors would often bring sick or wounded animals to her to be nursed back to health. She was affectionately known as a taskmaster in 4-H.
Charlene will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband of almost fifty-nine years, Jim Angell of Dowagiac; one son, Michael (Angela Tucker) Angell of Hobart, Indiana; four granddaughters, Haven Angell, Mackenzie Knapp, Alexis Griffith, and Madison Griffith.
Family and friends will gather Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis, for a time of sharing and storytelling. The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Charlene’s name to American Cancer Society, Southwest Michigan Office, 1400 West Milham Road, Portage, Michigan 49024.
