Eloise N. Randall, age 92 years of Benton Harbor, Michigan died at 3:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014 with her family gathered around her bedside at the Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, Michigan following a long and stubborn fight against cancer, and a passion for life.

Eloise N. Randall

Eloise N. Randall

She was born on Sept. 9, 1922 in Watervliet, Michigan to Edward and Charlotte (Brunke) LaMunion. She was graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1938, and has lived in this area all of her life. She was employed for many years at the former V-M Corporation in Benton Harbor, “The Voice of Music”.

Eloise defined vivacious: always looking for the next opportunity to entertain family and friends, or to go out and be entertained. Her backyard was always ready for a barbeque cookout with games, and her car trunk was always loaded for a trip and a picnic. Kenny Rogers was her favorite concert destination, but she found entertainment every night locally at D’Agostino’s Italian Restaurant and The Navajo Lounge, or at The Mark, or the Country Kitchen. Saturday nights were for dressing-up to look her best for dancing, and she was always prepared to win every Joke Contest.

She was first married on Sept. 28, 1946, to Vay Struble. Later, on April 30, 1984 she married George Boston with whom she celebrated last April thirty years of dedicated faithfulness.

Surviving family includes George, and a daughter, Cheryl Kaye (Don) Wilkie of Berrien Center, Michigan and a son, Larry Vay Struble; grandchildren Autumn (Alex) Mehl, Gabriel Hernandez, Brandon (Becky) Struble, Kevin Struble, Jr. and Kevin Shaw; and great-grandchildren Logen, Alena, Caleb, Hudson, Carsen, Tyler, and Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Lottie LaMunion and by a son, Kevin Dale who died in 2011; and by her sister, Marie Spreen and brothers, Gerald LaMunion and Saint Joseph Police Officer Francis LaMunion who died in the line of duty on June 23, 1927

Services for Eloise will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at the Community Evangelical Free Church in Niles with the Rev. Dan Puckett officiating. Interment will be private, at a later date, at Riverview Cemetery in Saint Joseph, Michigan.
