Diane L. Daus, 54, Trail Creek, Indiana, passed away Sept. 27, 2014 at 12:24 a.m. at home.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. Private family burial will follow at Mission Hills Cemetery in Niles, Michigan.

She was born May 15, 1960 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late Gordon W. Verburg and Marcia Herron. On Aug. 19, 1975 she married Timothy Daus.

Surviving are Mother, Marcia Herron of La Porte, Indiana; Son, Bradlee Daus of Trail Creek, Indiana; Daughter, Christy (Christopher) Qualkenbush of Michigan City, Indiana; three Grandchildren, Damyn Daus, Addison Nowicki, Atlas Daus; two brothers, Mark Verburg of La Porte, Indiana, Dan Verburg of Houston, Texas; She was preceded in death by her Father Gordon Verburg and her ex-husband Timothy Daus whom she remained close to until his passing in 2013.

She was a dedicated employee of Lakeshore Foods for many years where she became the first female Store Manager within the company. Although her main focus was always spending time with her family, she also enjoyed tech work at the theatre, collecting antiques, cooking, baking the most delicious banana bread and volunteering her time to help others. She has been an inspiration to many for her strength, courage and unwavering faith. She will remain in the hearts of the many lives she touched.

The family is requesting that friends and family attending the gathering bring a note sharing how Diane inspired you, a favorite memory or just a funny story involving Diane. The family will gather at a later date to read these special memories in private.
