Visit Leader staff at Summer in the City

The streets of downtown Dowagiac are fixing to heat up with more excitement and activity than any other time of year.

The 29th annual Summer in the City begins Thursday, the largest celebration of its kind inside the Grand Old City. Judging by the lineup of festivities, it appears that there’s a whole range of fun stuff for folks to dive into this weekend, with everything from princess parties for kids to a beer tent for older visitors.

This weekend will be another big milestone in my year of firsts since starting with the Daily News. I’m excited to see what the various vendors have lined up for the festival this year.

I just won’t be downtown covering the plethora of things buzzing around the streets, though. Leader Publications will again have a presence at the event this year, with a booth downtown.

I’ll be there manning the station from time to time on Friday and Saturday. In addition, other members of the Leader staff will be there as well throughout the weekend.

We encourage you guys to come and check us out. We’ll have newspapers and other information about not only the Daily News but also our other publications. And you’ll get an opportunity to chat with the people who work tirelessly to deliver the news about your hometown each and every day.
