Blame game needs to stop and act on crisis along border

As I understand it, the Congress and the President have the authority to call out the National Guard in a time of war or a national emergency.

If thousands of people from other nations are coming across our southern border is not a national emergency, I don’t know what is.

President (Barack) Obama has been asking for “comprehensive immigration reform” and Republicans keep insisting that we must first secure the border before we address the issue of what to do with the people who have come here illegally.

President Obama continues to point his finger at Congress and Congress continues to point their fingers at the Democratic leaders of the Senate and President Obama.

Meanwhile, a crisis continues. So, instead of playing the game of “one-upsmanship,” President Obama should call out the National Guard in the level needed to secure the border and then turn to Congress and say, “Now what?”

I lay the responsibility for this chaos on both the executive and legislative branch of our government.  Enough is enough. Is it too much to ask to have our government stop playing politics for just one issue?

By, the way, what ever happened to our Marine who is being held hostage in Mexico … Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi? No one is talking about him. Don’t we have some drug cartel leaders in custody that we can trade for him? Or isn’t that done anymore? Never mind.
