Vote for Pierman, Lester

Published 6:04 pm Wednesday, July 2, 2014

Dr. Eric Lester and Bette Pierman are both pillars of our Southwest Michigan community. We are all very fortunate that these two outstanding individuals have decided to run for state office — Lester for State Representative from the 79th District and Pierman for State Senator from the 21st District.

Eric Lester has been a practicing oncologist in our area for the past 20 years. During that time he has established a strong reputation for integrity, intelligence and compassion. He is a clear thinker, an empathic listener, a creative problem solver and a champion for quality and affordable healthcare, economic opportunity and social justice for everyone.

He will bring to the legislature a commitment to constructive collaboration and a common sense approach to passing laws that will benefit his district and all of the people in the state of Michigan.

Bette Pierman has been a public school teacher, a project manager, a technical writer and a strong advocate for the environment. She is a dynamic leader who believes that our state’s economic health will only improve when our state government “returns its focus to people, because favoring special interests does not improve our state’s economy.”

Pierman is passionate about making sure that every child in Michigan has access to a quality education and that every adult in Michigan has access to meaningful work that pays a living wage.

Eric Lester and Bette Pierman are both outstanding candidates. I hope you will join me in voting for them this November.
