Dwight Hatter, 70, of Cassopolis, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014, at his residence with his family by his side.
Dwight Hatter was born on April 21, 1944, in Dowagiac to the late George and Leonora (Hubbard) Hatter.
He worked at Clark Equipment for many years as a welder and later at United Store Fixtures.
On May 29, 1965, he married the love of his life, Molly (Moon) Hatter, at a ceremony in Dowagiac.
He is survived by his wife, son Dwight Andrew (Michelle) Hatter of Vicksburg, two daughters, Melissa (John “Jay”) Waldschmidt of Dowagiac, Jennifer (David) Kaminski of Mobile, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, George (Carole) Hatter of Dowagiac, Harold (Lucy) Hatter of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Delores (Edward) Kieta of California and Janice (Rocky) Mengel of Dowagiac.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In keeping with Dwight’s wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will be holding a memorial service on Saturday, May 3, 2014, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Dowagiac Conservation Club; 54551 M-51, Dowagiac, Michigan 49047.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dwight’s memory to the Dowagiac Conservation Club “Youth Program”; 54551 M-51, Dowagiac, Michigan 49047.
