Henry J. “Hank” Kurek, 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep Nov. 15, 2013.

Born June 19, 1920, he was the son of the late Joseph and Veronica (Czochara) Kurek.

Hank married the love of his life, Jessie Pytel. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Adele R. Pytel of Niles; his nephew, Peter M. Karlowicz of Niles; great nieces, Dustin and Lauren (Karlowicz) Cornelius and Matt and Katherine (Karlowicz) Herm; friends, Nichole Shelton, Ronald and Becca Shelton, Elizabeth Shelton and Victoria Shelton; and his caregivers, Mary Womble, Marilyn Sietz, Lorrie Hill, Kristen Goodman and Carolyn Goodman, who lovingly cared for him in his home.

Hank was a kind and charming man who had a wonderful sense of humor. He had lived an interesting and fulfilled life, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
