Smokey Robinson

Dubbed by Bob Dylan as “America’s greatest living poet,” Smokey Robinson founded The Miracles while in high school in Detroit, and went on to produce hits for The Temptations, Marvin Gaye and more. Michiana Celtic Festival

Events include the Scottish Highland Athletics Invitational Competition, church services, boarder collie demonstrations, farm animals, scotch tasting, Celtic fare and beer, pony rides and games for kids, haggis hurl and keg toss. The Toronto-based Celtic rock band Enter the Haggis will headline the entertainment. Other Celtic musicians and dancers will also perform. Labor Day weekend in St. Joseph

St. Joseph has a weekend of events slated to close the summer, including the final Friday Night Concert of the season, at 7:30 p.m. at the Howard Band Shell. The Tri-State Regatta boats arrive the morning of Sept. 1; and the farmers’ market and Regatta Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lake Bluff Park. Free horse-drawn trolleys will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. The Regatta boats depart at 9 a.m. Sunday, followed by Antiques on the Bluff in Lake Bluff Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free concerts will be held at the band shell, at 3:30, 7:30 and 9 p.m. Monday will conclude the weekend with concerts again at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Michiana Latin Flavor Fest 2012
