James John Lowery Sr., 68, of Buchanan, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at his sister’s home in St. Joseph of natural causes.
He was born March 8, 1944, in Langley, Ark. He was a U.S. Army veteran and construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Armitt P. and Jeannie Lee Lowery, and two brothers, Wallace Eugene Lowery Sr. and Bobby Jack Lowery.
He is survived by his sons, James John Lowery Jr. and Michael Kevin (Mellissa) Lowery; daughter, Angela Perri (Richard) Scull; sister, Frankie Louise (Ray) Shirley; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his Tuesday morning coffee buddies.
Services and burial will be at 2 p.m. today at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Legion Post 51 Scholarship Fund, 403 E. Front St., Buchanan, MI 49107.
