LaGrange crash hurts two

A two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon at Pokagon Highway and Dailey Road in LaGrange Township injured two people.
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood reports that at approximately 3:25 p.m. Monday, deputies from the sheriff’s office were dispatched to a two-vehicle personal injury traffic crash.
Lonnie Schmidtendorff, 25, of Cassopolis, was southbound on Dailey and failed to stop at the intersection.
Schmidtendorff was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Linda Carter, 56, of Niles.
Schmidtendorff, along with a passenger in Carter’s vehicle, Dalton Smith, 16, of Cassopolis, were injured.
Schmittendorff was transported by Life Care Ambulance to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Smith was transported by Edwardsburg Ambulance to Lakeland Hospital in Niles for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Seatbelts were worn by all individuals. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
Cassopolis Fire Department assisted at the scene.
