Peter P. Horvath, 93, of Niles, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012, in Riveridge Manor.

Pete was born April 6, 1919, in Backo-Petrovo-Selo, Yugoslavia, to Istvan and Terezia (Juhasz) Horvath. He was the owner of Tisza Industries in Niles. On June 30, 1954, in Hungary he married the former Elizabeth Lemmich. She died Jan. 20, 1985.

Peter was also preceded in death by a son, Peter S. Horvath Jr., and a sister, Terezia Horvath.

On April 10, 1987, he married Iren Somogyi, who survives along with her son, Louis (Laurie) Somogyi, of Granger.

Also surviving are a daughter, Theresa (Greg) Harrison, of Niles; a half-son, Bela Sebestyen, of Hungary; six grandchildren, Bela, Szilvia, Andrea, Gabriella, Christopher and Amelia; and two great-grandchildren, Szilvia and Istvan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 11, in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Ave.
